Cellist Biography

John Swartz graduated from Sarah Lawrence College in 2006. He studied the cello with Christopher Finckel, viola da gamba with Judith Davidoff, electronic music and improvisation with John Yannelli, and chamber music with Sung-Rai Sohn and Carsten Schmidt.

John is experienced at teaching both children and adults beginners. In 2007 he taught at the Laurentian Summer Music Festival, where he taught music theory and coached various chamber ensembles (including a Free Improvisation primer).
